Visit the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii Ruins in only one day! Let’s enjoy the “Maritime Republic” of Amalfi and its historical center where you can find its ancient medieval buildings like the golden St. Andrew Church. Then we lead you to Positano, the village of VIPs of the Amalfi coast made famous by all italian old  movies of the past, and at the end let’s go to explore a walking tour in Pompeii Ruins where the rest of the Roman ancient buildings and theatre and streets are still very well preserved after 2000 years from the eruption that destroyed it.

Tour Plan

This is the perfect combination to visit the entire Amalfi Coast and Pompeii Ruins!

 

Amalfi:

This tour starts from the agreed point in  the morning and our first stop is Amalfi. The drive to Amalfi will take 60/90 minutes (depending the traffic). You will have free time to explore the ancient “Marine Republic” (or Republic of the Sea). Visit the 11th century Cathedral of Saint Andrew (amalfitan saint patron) with amazing gold and bright decorations, walk around the labyrinth of tiny alleys where you can have really good shopping and buying souvenirs or just take a bath into the sparkling blue water of the see. Here you can also think about your lunch, you only need to speak with driver to arrange a nice place for your meal. (we suggest you to visit limoncello liquor and have free tasting)

Lunch

  Lunch will be discussed with the escort driver first thing in the morning. The escort driver will make recommendations/suggestions. Reservations will be made if need so.

Positano:

You will have free time to explore the beautiful atmosphere of this ancient colorful village made famous by VIPs from the 60s till today, appreciate the famous exclusive ceramics of the local artisans, enjoy a glass of wine on the beach looking the see. Get lost into the tiny streets and stairways of the this cliff village with flowers everywhere. Known to be the jewel of the Amalfi Coast, Positano is guaranteed to present you with a warm, genuine and authentic Italian experience. The driver will reach the furthest part of the town which is accessible by vehicle, at which time you will walk through the narrow streets and alleys. Here you will see various local arts and crafts, galleries and a bougainvillaea flower shelter which will lead you to the beach. Here you can take a stroll along the boardwalk. Many celebrities are known to vacation here, so it could be your lucky day! (we suggest to visit the ceramic factory to see how they make it)

Pompeii

Once done we proceed to Pompeii and the drive will take about 30minutes. You will have 2 hours of free time to explore this ruin. Filled with an abundance of history, this partially buried town offers marvelous scenery that one must personally see to believe. A must see site that will provide you with a rare and knowledgeable experience! This ancient ruin which was buried under meters of ash and pumice after the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79A.D. Filled with an abundance of history, this partially buried town offers captivating scenery that one must personally see to believe. It is a must-see landmark that will provide you with a thoroughly unique experience. The licensed guide will provide you with ample historical information, showing you the highlights of the ruin. (we highly reccomend to hire a guide, ask in the note the price) (we also suggest you to visit the coral facory for the fine art of the jewellry)

End of tour

Back to the pick up location between the hours of 4-5pm or what was agreed upon.

Important Note Regarding itinerary

If the starting point is from Sorrento area or Salerno Area the itinerary is as follows: Pompeii-Positano-Amalfi or reverse. Time allocation is the same. It is 8-9hr tour.

Information

Transportation

One of our professional, knowledgeable English speaking driver guides will be waiting at pick up location (where you will be tendered) or location agreed according to the agreed time (usually 8am to skip traffic). Your driver will be holding a sign with your or your party’s name on it.

From/to Naples or Sorrento or Amalfi or Salerno Ports (Pick up is normally 8am or otherwise agreed upon)

Our escort driver will be waiting at the gangway of your cruise ship or outside the cruise ship terminal. The escort driver will be holding up a sign with the group’s name on it. The email that accompanies the voucher you receive at the time of booking will indicate the meeting point for each specific port.

We recommend that you meet onboard before exiting the ship. This way you are all together when meeting your escort driver and the tour can commence much more efficiently. Otherwise, the wait time for others will be 20minutes, after which time the tour will proceed.

From/to Naples Train Station

The escort driver will be waiting at the end of the train platform where your train will be arriving at. The escort driver will be holding a sign with the name in which the reservation was reserved.

From/to Naples Capodichino Airport

The escort driver will be waiting at the arrival lobby holding a sign with the name in which the reservation was made under or otherwise stated.

From/to any Hotel

Escort driver will be waiting at the lobby of the hotel. Normally pick up is 8:30am or otherwise stated.

From/to any Resident/B&B

The escort driver will be waiting outside the main doors of the building.

For groups of more than 8 people from Naples, Sorrento, Amalfi Salerno we can either provide a Mercedes Sprinter minibus or multiple luxury minivans. This will depend on availability. The use of a minivan allows clients to arrive at the exact location of the destination.  With a minibus, you will be dropped further from the destination and you will have to walk to the designated location.
